Migrant and Refugee Women’s Experiences of the Legal System

This event is designed to give lawyers and community workers a better understanding of the barriers experienced by Migrant and Refugee women in our legal system, particularly in family law and family violence.

This event will cover a range of topics including:

  • Spotting additional legal issues often experienced by Migrant and Refugee women
  • Challenges in navigating the legal system
  • How lawyers can adapt their practice to better assist Migrant and Refugee women
  • Accessing services

This event is co-presented by Legal Aid ACT and the Women’s Legal Centre ACT
