Salary range Legal 3 $117,614 - $136,995 per annum plus 15.4% superannuation

Legal Aid is seeking suitably a qualified Supervising Lawyer Legal 3 for our Early Intervention Practice.
Working at Legal Aid Commission (ACT) is an opportunity to do challenging and rewarding work and make a meaningful contribution to the circumstances of disadvantaged and vulnerable clients and communities in the ACT.
Early Intervention Practice lawyers provide advice and guidance on domestic and family violence and represent parties in court. They also provide Family Advocacy Support Service (FASS), Family Law Duty Service (FLDS), and Health Justice Partnership.
Some of the assistance include applying and responding to Family Violence Orders, referrals to non-legal support services and assistance to access non-legal solutions. The FASS duty lawyers provide legal advice, information and referrals in relation to family law, family violence and child protection matters. Assist and negotiate with the other party to sort out property, prepare court documents, subpoenas and arrangements for children. Provide representation in urgent interim matters where there are allegations of family violence.
Supervising Lawyers may be expected to supervise a small team of legal and support staff, including internships and/or student placements.
