The Legal Aid Duty Lawyer is at the ACT Magistrates Court to assist people who are appearing in the Magistrates Court without their own lawyer for criminal issues and Family Violence/Personal Violence Orders.
The Duty Lawyer service is free. However, our Duty Lawyer's can be very busy may not be able to help everyone.
The Duty Lawyer for criminal issues is now located outside Courtroom 1 on level 1 of the ACT Magistrates Court. For Family Violence or Personal Violence Orders, the Duty Lawyer is located on the ground floor. Please ask at security for directions.
